Simply the best party of the season, the (s)low down features artisanal cocktails by some of the finest mixologists in town, a whole pig roasted for us by Fatty 'Cue, and other seasonal treats created by Slow Food NYC Snail of Approval and other "slow friendly" establishments. Our fabulous raffle and silent auction is like no other. Featuring auctioneer Matt Timms, of The Takedown, the auction will offer one-of-a-kind, gustatory experiences that cannot be bought anywhere at any price, such as lunch with Leonard Lopate of The Leonard Lopate Show on WNYC, or the chance to butcher and prepare your own goat with Adam Danforth and Billy Barlow, and many more amazing opportunities.

We are honoring Mary Cleaver of Cleaver Company & The Green Table, with our inaugural Snailblazer Award. For over 30 years, Mary has been a pioneer in the local and sustainable food movement with the conviction that the best ingredients come from no more than a day's drive away. Brian Halweil, publisher of Edible Manhattan, Edible Brooklyn, and editor of Edible East End will present the award to Mary.

Party proceeds will support the Slow Food NYC Urban Harvest programs: Urban Harvest in Schools, at a dozen schools in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn, and Urban Harvest in Gardens in Brooklyn and South Africa. Watch the inspiring video of our program at Ujima Garden:

Urban Harvest focuses on kids in communities with limited access to fresh, healthful food – helping them learn about good food and their health, the health of their communities and the the health of the planet.

Don't miss this special evening, put on by our all-volunteer Slow Food NYC board members. We hope you will join us.
