The Brooklyn Slur - The Shanty

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 (7:00pm to 9:00pm)

The Slow Food NYC bi-monthly Happy Hour! It's fun, social, and informal. But it's also your opportunity to talk to the leadership of Slow Food NYC and let us know what you think. Got a great idea for an event? Looking for ways to get involved? Want to learn more about Slow Food? Just looking to have a relaxing drink with other "Slow" minded people? The Slur is your opportunity.

Did you know there's an operational distillery located right here in Williamsburg? The New York Distilling Company, which was just launched in December by Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Tom Potter and star mixologist Allen Katz, is currently offering up two types of housemade gin, with more spirits in the works. They're using sustainably produced ingredients that are sourced from New York State as much as possible. Overlooking the distillery's manufacturing floor, The Shanty is a cozy full-service bar featuring their own gins along with a selection of local beers, ciders, and cocktails.

At 8 PM, during our Slur, our group will get a brief distillery tour and tasting - don't miss it!  We hope to see you there.
