The Manhattan Slur - Apotheke

Monday, March 31, 2014 (7:00pm to 9:00pm)

It's the Slow Food NYC monthly Happy Hour! It's fun, social, and informal. But it's also your opportunity to talk to the leadership of Slow Food NYC and let us know what you think. Got a great idea for an event? Looking for ways to get involved? Want to learn more about Slow Food? Just looking to have a relaxing drink with other "Slow" minded people? The Slur is your opportunity - free and open to everyone.

Apotheke, located in a former opium den, is the quintessential speakeasy — tucked away behind an unmarked door on a winding street in Chinatown. Elegant banquettes, a pressed tin ceiling, and a hard-carved bar filled with antique medicine bottles provide the perfect setting for the expertly crafted, unique cocktails (called "prescriptions" in keeping with the apothecary theme). Their "farm-to-bar" philosophy ensures that cocktail ingredients are sourced from local greenmarkets, organic produce vendors, and their own rooftop herb garden. Try the Kale in Comparison, a refreshing concoction of vodka, kale juice, pineapple, and ginger; sip on the Matador, a mix of tequila, bell pepper, and habanero bitters; or end the night with the Deal Closer, made with vodka, cucumber, mint, and local Chinatown aphrodisiacs.

We hope to see you there.
