Slow U: Sandwiched in New York

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

Healthy food and living writer, Sara Reistad-Long, and ethnic food and travel journalist, Jean Tang, sandwich lovers both, join forces in co-authoring "The Big Sandwich Book: Delicious Creations from the City's Greatest Restaurants and Chefs" (Running Press/Perseus, in bookstores Spring 2011). Join Sara and Jean as they cover everything about sandwiches in New York City from the current state of NYC sandwich art to the surprising health benefits of sandwiches, tips on reinventing your sandwich vocabulary, building radical, and easy, new sandwiches, maintaining a home arsenal of unique sandwich condiments, and pairing the perfect beverages with your sandwiches. You will sample some cutting edge sandwiches paired with local wines. Proceeds from this event will benefit the programs of Slow Food NYC.
