Join Virginie Delavaud, of Migration of Senses and the creator of “Chocolate and I”, a celebration of artisanal chocolate, when she leads a special, informative, and very tasty St. Valentine’s Day Chocolate Crawl around Manhattan.
The tour will begin at Saxelby Cheesemongers at the Essex Street Market for a tasting of Vere chocolate and regionally produced farmstead and artisan cheese, specially selected by cheesemonger Anne Saxelby. After the cheese course, the tour will continue on to MarieBelle, for extraordinary hot chocolate (the REAL stuff, guaranteed), chocolate confections, and a chat with Maribel, the proprietor. The tour will end at Vino, Vino, where you will taste..well.. more chocolate, produced by Joy’s Truffles, paired with New York State wines, selected by Rory Callahan of Wine and Food Associates.
Each chocolate crawler will receive a gift bag of Joy’s Truffles. The chocolate you will enjoy is fairly and sustainably produced. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Slow Food NYC Harvest Time Program of good food education at schools in East Harlem and on the Lower East Side in Manhattan and in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
