Added Value / Red Hook Community Farm

Added Value is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn by nurturing a new generation of young leaders. At the center of their work is the Red Hook Community Farm, a once-dilapidated playground transformed by community residents into a vibrant three-acre organic urban farm. The farm's produce is sold at their farmer's markets and to local restaurants, and is donated to those in need, thereby improving the community's access to healthy, safe, and affordable food, creating meaningful work for local teens, and generating much-needed home-grown economic activity.
