DONATE

There are many ways to contribute and all donations go toward maintaining our programs to provide good food education. Click here to donate safely via Donorbox, or put your donation dollars toward a ticket to one of our next events. We appreciate your support!

Want your donation to go even further? We’re registered with Benevity for those with employers participating in corporate giving programs. Employees can make a one-time or recurring donation to the causes they care most about—including Slow Food NYC—and companies often increase their impact with a corporate match.

VOLUNTEER

trained volunteers

We occasionally offer volunteer training and welcome all who are interested to get in contact. At these trainings, future volunteers learn more about the history of the slow food movement and the programs of Slow Food NYC. Anyone who wants to represent Slow Food NYC at an information table or at an event is required to go through this training first so they can answer questions from the general public.

These volunteers are also welcome to help out on board committees: assisting with our communications efforts, planning educational events, working with Urban Harvest or supporting our Snail of Approval programming.

Watch our Events Calendar or sign up for our newsletter at the top of this page for upcoming sessions.

HANDS-ON WORK

On a seasonal basis, we typically put out a call for volunteers to help plant or prepare our farm space or help at a school garden. You might want to volunteer for an on-going commitment on the farm during the summer. No special training is necessary, just the commitment to show up and the willingness to work.

Watch our Events Calendar or sign up for our newsletter at the top of this page for upcoming volunteer days and work opportunities at our gardens.

SPECIAL SKILLS

We are also always looking for volunteers with special skills to help make our ambitious non-profit run. We often need graphic designers, communications experts, photographers and videographers, grant writers, event planners, food industry leaders, and local agricultural professionals to keep our programs running.

If you have a special skill you want to share, or a great idea—please let us know by filling out this form

BOARD MEMBERS

Slow Food NYC is entirely organized and run by volunteers—drawing talent, expertise, and ambition from our community. Each year, we seek out nominations for passionate, talented, energetic Slow Food leaders to be considered for our steering committee, which is designated by our members to run the chapter’s events and affairs. Please stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to submit a board nomination, as our application process is currently closed.

We encourage a diverse range of perspectives and experiences at our table to best reflect the varied needs of our entire community. As part of this commitment, new board members are expected to agree to a code of conduct aligned with our organization's equity, inclusion, and justice manifesto.

Eligible nominees must be current, paid-up members of Slow Food USA by the start of their term, though interested folks are welcome to self-nominate or make multiple nominations on behalf of community members. If you have any questions, please contact the Slow Food NYC Elections Committee at info@slowfoodnyc.org.
