Join us for our inaugural SnailFest benefit event, an evening dedicated to celebrating New York City's vibrant slow food movement and the local food establishments that have earned the prestigious Snail of Approval award.
The night kicks off with a cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner and program. Enjoy a delicious, thoughtfully prepared meal from Snail of Approval awardee Farm to People paired with local wine, beer, and a signature cocktail in collaboration with Snail of Approval awardee, Acid. Bid in our silent auction throughout the evening and help us honor New York City chefs, purveyors, and slow food champions who bring intention, sustainability, and flavor to every bite.
Supporting our work
Proceeds from Snail Fest support Slow Food NYC’s mission to build a more sustainable and equitable local food system through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
While education and community is the root of our mission, we also focus our efforts on systemic change. Our Snail of Approval certification is awarded to food establishments, from farms to retailers to restaurants, who are aligned with our vision. We share information about our awardees on our website as a resource for our community.
Slow Food NYC is the New York City outpost of the global slow food movement. We envision a world where all New Yorkers can eat food that is good for them, good for the people who grow it, good for the planet, and good for the future. In addition to awarding Snail of Approval certifications, we achieve this vision by:
Convening our community and encouraging conversation inspired by thought leaders, experts, and our lived experiences. We host a suite of educational and community events throughout the year through our Slow U programming.
Addressing food insecurity through volunteerism and urban farming through our Urban Harvest programming. We cultivate crops and community at the Ujima urban farm in East New York, where everything grown is donated to local seniors.
Tickets include food, drinks, access to our silent auction, and an unforgettable evening celebrating the best of our city's slow food scene. The menu has been crafted with dietary restrictions in mind, but please reach out to richa.mehra@slowfoodnyc.org with any concerns!
